THE ABYSSAL SOVEREIGN - Digital Sculpture by Surajit Sen

I have endeavoured to evoke a primordial intelligence through an intricate interplay of grotesque anatomy, sinuous contours and eroded, almost fossilised surfaces, wherein organic intricacy becomes an instrument of visual unease. My sculptural instinct gravitates towards the unconventional; I relish the juxtaposition of human physiognomy with alien morphology, allowing deliberate imperfections, cavernous recesses and elaborate spiral formations to impart an ancient, almost sentient presence. For me, digital sculpting is an exercise in imaginative excavation a relentless exploration of form, texture and psychological ambiguity, through which I seek to transform an improbable vision into a tangible sculptural reality.
