Halloween Creature Series - Week 2 THE - THORNBOUND WRAITH - Digital Sculpture by Surajit Sen

I wanted to explore a creature in which anatomy begins to merge with the very architecture of a dying forest. Its elongated limbs, exposed sinews, contorted extremities and branching crown are deliberate explorations of organic distortion, where elegance and grotesquery coexist in uneasy equilibrium. For me, digital sculpting is an exercise in giving form to the inexplicable allowing instinct, relentless observation and an appetite for the unfamiliar to transform an obscure thought into a tangible nightmare.
THE THORNBOUND WRAITH -A spectral woodland entity, bound to the earth by twisted roots and crowned with contorted, skeletal branches.
