Naughty Boy - Zbrush Beta Testing 2027 - Digital Sculpture buy Surajit Sen

I am honoured to have been part of the Maxon ZBrush Beta Testing and humbled to share Naughty Boy one of my ZBrush Beta sculptures.
I could not let this journey feel complete without returning to one of my favourite forms of artistic expression: the old-school, hand-sculpted character.
Naughty Boy is my cheeky artistic response to AI and the next generation of artists. Perhaps they will never fully experience the emotional attachment, frustration and sleepless nights we endured while learning to build a human base from curves, surfaces and sheer persistence. Those were the days when every breakthrough was earned through experimentation, patience and countless hours of practice.
Looking back at our transformation from the black-and-white world of traditional craft to today's AI-driven civilization, I genuinely feel fortunate to have witnessed this extraordinary evolution firsthand.
The exaggerated cheeks, mischievous grin, closed eyes and tongue-out expression are deliberately playful. Yet beneath the humour lies a quiet nostalgia for the craft that shaped us the discipline of observation, the joy of discovery and the satisfaction of creating something with our own hands.
To me, this little fellow is an affectionate, old-school salute to the future. A reminder that technology may transform the process, but the emotional connection between an artist and the act of creation remains something truly special.
Because before AI, there was curiosity. Before shortcuts, there was persistence. And before the final sculpt, there were countless hours of learning, failing, experimenting and trying again.
