The Timber Titan - Digital Sculpture by Surajit Sen
What if the giants of prehistory were shaped not by flesh and bone, but by time, timber, and imagination?
This sculpture is my exploration of the timeless grandeur of the Stegosaurus, reimagined through the language of weathered wood and simplified forms. Rather than pursuing strict anatomical accuracy, I sought to distil its essence,its strength, presence, and enduring character, into a sculptural form that feels both ancient and familiar.
I have always been fascinated by breathing life into simple shapes and materials. While creating this piece, I imagined a prehistoric giant carved not by human hands, but by nature itself,shaped over centuries by wind, rain, age, and memory. Every crack, grain, and imperfection became part of its story.
Through deliberate restraint and stylisation, I aimed to create more than a creature study. This work is a meditation on endurance, craftsmanship, and imagination,where natural decay and artistic interpretation converge to give new life to a relic of deep time.
