SMILEY MAN - Digital Sculpture by Surajit Sen

I have endeavoured to capture an eccentric yet disarmingly affable physiognomy, wherein exaggerated proportions, half-closed eyes and an irrepressible smile coalesce into a singular sculptural personality.
The pronounced cranial volume, fleshy contours and deliberately imperfect surface articulate my predilection for tactile realism, caricatural distortion and the expressive possibilities of digital clay.
My sculptural instinct gravitates towards the unconventional; I relish the psychological interplay between humour, human frailty and idiosyncratic character, permitting intuition rather than rigid anatomical convention to govern my creative process.
For me, digital sculpting is an act of imaginative excavation—a means of transmuting spontaneous amusement into tangible form, wherein imperfection becomes character and a simple smile acquires its own enduring identity.
